Ok so here's my first kill. The same day I got the car, well that night, I went to show it to my buddy. We were at the gas station to see the car's color under the light when we both heard a loud blow off valve. Looking back out on the road we see a red Mitsu Evo. MY buddy tells me to go catch him and race him. I say nah.....then ok, I get in the car and give chase. Finally the guy pulls up to his gf's house and we chat. Turns out we both know the same people so that's cool.
Me: That's a nice EVO! MR right? Cool....wanna do a couple runs on the freeway, I wanna see how fast this thing is, this is sweet!!!
Him: Sure. What's this?
Me: Ah, just a grandma Mercedes, nothing special, it's a slow ass POS. But you got a sweet ride damn! Ok let's go.
We get to the freeway....25mph rolling start... he does some funky handsign and takes off. I'm about 1/2 a car length behind and still chilling when I realized that oops we going for it. I punch it and he's not moving on me and we shut down around 90 or so b/c of the false start.
Then we do another run....20mph or so...We take off, side by side, the entire time I'm slowly creeping ahead, then by 95mph, I'm ahead by the hood, past 100+ it's over for him, he sees my rear badges. I pass him. We shut down at about 125-130, two small runs, he doesn't get away ahead but i do :)
We pull over to talk, and he's just dumbfounded that he couldnt take on a big body benz. I explain to him that it's an E55. We say goodnight and that's it :)
E55 1
EVO 0

Nice run... did you try 0-60 with him? I bet all wheel drive on the Evo comes in pretty handy for that..
ANyways good kill, so by the ricer math the equation goes like this:
300C > E55
E55> Evo
Hence:
300C > Evo!
;)

lol I tried at first, so I could get up quick, but I unlike a non AMG tranny, the car won't shift up when redline. lol. I found out the hardway. I still caught up to him then lol
The car is 1/2 debadged. I ran outta goo gone, so Im still showing AMG but no E55 anymore :P
now imagine if your dad found out :P
j/k....nice kill!!!.....and can we please get the official pics of your car by the beach?...cause its kinda become tradition...lol

Doc, are you saying that the car will not shift up to redline? If so, it may be that the car is still trying to adapt to your driving mode. If you drive it aggressive enough, then it will start to shift more aggressively..more toward redline. :)

I think Mike is going to dominate 'Kill Stories' now, sigh :(
Glad to see you're having fun with your new car! ;)

kool car mike, just a word of advice: never ride w/o a fire extinguisher. my 2000 e55 caught on fire while I was racing a carrera(and I dont believe fire had anything to do with racing). the entire computer bay, wiring harness, and even dash burned, luckily I got out of it on time. If I had an extinguisher with me, the damage could have been minimal and the car would still be drivable today. I dont know if this is a common problem with AMG's, but I know I will never get another AMG, ever again. I'm sticking with regular benzes(or bimmers).

I don't know if Mike's tranny has the same feature, but for the trannys with the W and S modes, if you flip that switch you basically reset the tranny adaptation. So if you flip the switch back and forth, and then drive the car hard, it *should* adapt to a more aggressive map immediately.
I tried it on my car and I didn't notice too much of a diff though, but it did seem to help things.
The one cool thing I liked about the reprogrammed AMG tranny is that when it is in the more aggresive shift pattern, the tranny will downshift and hold the gear to keep the revs if you floor it and briefly let-up on the throttle to slow down for say a turn. You can literally floor it and let go, but the revs will still be held for a few moments so you can stab the throttle and have excellent power at all times. The gear and revs seem to be ideal at the given speed. It really helps...at least for an automatic! :P
