E430 Spanked, Smacked & Served An '05 Vw Phaeton!

hey all....

this past friday i was at a light on mulhulland in my 99 E430:

and this gnasty gold 05 VW Phaeton pulls up next to me:

well i was just listening to Weezer and noticed that this hot blonde was laughing at me with her boyfriend who was doing the cliche "let's race you and me" and even went so far as to do the 2 fingers to the eyes and back at me (robert dinero style)...

i nodded and the girl was doing the slice across the throat crap to me...
so i was like...
whatever...

and the light hit green
i took off and left him half a car length behind...then i could hear his engine roar and i could see his front bumper parallel to my side mirror......

hehehehe
i still wasn't lead footing it
so i pushed my pedal down further
left his car farther behind
then for added measure pushed the pedal all the way down, felt my car downshift
and DAMN MY ASS FLEW DEEPER INTO MY SEAT...AND BLASTED OFF....

both got caught at the next light where he was stuck behind me and i saw him flipping me off....
and creeping closer to my rear...and flashing his lights....so the light turned green
and let's just say i left him in the canyon somewhere to cry....

LOL, I usually don't reply to kill stories but it is sad if someone is being an arse by instigating a race in an obnoxious way, and then even worse when they get served and are a sore loser. Actually, it's great he was losing it in the end. Really says a lot about the kind fo guy he is.

Another sad thing....he's trying to look hard in a VW Phaeton when he probably couldn't afford to be in the the right car, the Audi A8 :P

i mean the phaeton's cool but it's novelty runs out quick..
would rather be in the A8....and have a long haired asian guy smoke me with his e430.... :P .....cause at least i'd look good served in my A8 IN BLACK

A8 is hot. i test drove it and i was impressed. I know it's not a fast car just because i've seen it's numbers on paper, but it definitely felt fast. that's probably why the guy thought his car could take an old school e class.

i guess he's not familiar with how audi is always trailing mercedes in the speed department.

I would love to own an A8....heck, S8! Despite the GMC-style steering wheel (what happenned to the gorgeous wheel they used to have???), that car would be a sweet ride. Defintely a sleeper. Not flashy, but not as dull as the previous version either. And hopefully the S version will address any speed deficiencies.

Phaeton....man, that was just a mistake. I feel bad for the exec who got fired saying so too. He was right on the money :blink:

When I was car shopping, I was suprised at the quoted acceleration figures the E430 had. 0-60 was actually on par with the C36. I'm sure it pulls more at the higher end too.

The W210 E430 is so sweet. Gotta love the Brabus-esq looking wheels and AMG aerodynamics from a "sport package". Dang, they don't make em like they used to :(

yes the 0-60 numbers on the e430 is 6 seconds flat...
and from 60-100 it's a mere second or two (non-statistical)
the only thing i do kinda feel weary about is the suspension but that'll change when i dump my baby an inch and get the stiffer shocks...

oh yeah

one thing they don't emphasis about my baby....

she averages 15-19 city mpg
and 21-24 hwy mpg

now that's what i call a car!!!!

Actually, my mpg is awesome :) freeway I get 22-24mpg, and city 17-18mpg :)

Heck I would race him for pinks If I thought our value was the same.... but I got to wait a couple of more years of depreciation until we catch up.... :(
