Yeah give us the specs... 5-spd (I hope!) And how many miles, and how much did you pick it up for.
lemme get this straight... you got rid of a '91 to get a car that's actually older than you? lmao. just skeetin'

 Have you ever driven a 5-spd before? Those cars have a hydraulic clutch thingy so its able to be driven hard without worrying about burning out the clutch! Pretty nifty feature.

woa yeah, very different. The 2,3-16 is probably easier as it doens't have as much instant tq as many of the japanese engines do. Remember, 1st is where 2nd should be and only 2.5 seconds on the clutch  :D And Have fun, personally , I could never even imagine having a manual tranny in LA or SoCal for that matter! Unless of course you want to work on your guns with all that rowing B) :D

that car is shweeeet. Man, definitely an upgrade! PLEASE do not smoke the corner lights (or anything for that matter). If you get new rims and paint all the black trim pieces to match in the back, this car will be amazing! Congrats!!!

The clutch is so much stiffer then the rsx, its nuts. I was driving around aimlessly just learning the gears for like 2 hours in the morning, i was sweating, when i got out of the car, my left leg felt wieghtless. For the people that have seen me in r/l know that im pretty skinny with no guns

If thats the case the hammers would definately clear the brakes. they are et 28, which means they stick out further than et 30 or 37

are you sure, i dont think they would clear those calipers in the front
Ashman

if the front is et 37 then the wheel is closer to the caliper than et 28 would be.
the lower the offset humber the further they stick out. the high the number the more they are in towards the caliper.
all you would need to do is put the wheel on and see if it would clear the caliper.

Nice car Perz... Doesn't look like it brough you more respect tho :P hahah j/k :)
The interior is sweet too! How much did you pay for it?
car looks awesome man!
but that manual transmission is awkward....i could never imagine having first gear where second should be....i would most likely throw it in reverse numerous times...
why couldnt they just switch reverse and 5th?....
oh well....great car none the less... B)

if you think that's awkward, you should try out a manual column shifter some time!
Also, I can't remember which one off the top of my head, but I think a number of the early silver arrows (w196?) or maybe the porsche 917...anyway, there are quite a few race cars out there with weird ass gear shift patterns.
Stuff like...
4 6 2
1 3 5
Brabus
04-12-2005, 10:27 AM
Yeah, I was just in NZ and I rented a 5 speed Toyota echo hatchback. Since it's RHD, it's weird to shift with the same pattern but with my left hand!
i think you still have to pull the lever upwards when you want to engage the R gear. they must have some clown-proof mechanism... otherwise, i ain't never gonna follow right behind perz if we have a get-together.

i actually feel no difference when i drive a manual car in Canada or in India....it is just so natural for me to shift with either hand....
and Renn....holy crap...thats like cross pattern...

actually having first down is quite normal for most euro cars.
it is to for a true H pattern...
R 2 4
1 3 5
I know the maseratti Biturbo has this pattern.
4 speeds just don't have the 5th gear.
Lots of ferraris have this pattern too.
Either way it feels normal to me either way if I ever drive one...
