ok tonite i drove an 01 hummer diesel. since i wrote about the 996 turbo, i plan on writing about every car i drive from now on. :D

interior. ok ive never been in a car so stripped down. the steering wheel is about the size of a bread plate. its as thin as a tooth brush with a soft leather cover on it. the seats are little more then beach chairs, with a cloth cover on it.

the car is F***ing huge inside...theres about 3ft btw the pass and driver. it takes alot of work to drive the car, because ytou have to many blind spots, and so much mass to keep track of.

the engine...ok i know it wasnt gonna be a race car, and actually it was right what i expected...massive low end (it redlines at 4k it better have tq!!) but the car was slow to rev in any gear.

feel.you cant help but feel tough driving this tank:) as for the balance of the car its sad...the back end pitches the opposite way you turn the wheel unless ur going very slow....fast wheel movements arent welcome here. you have to plan ahead when driving this car, braking must be done when the light is still green :) (j/k)

overall feel of the car...if you wanna feel like a badass, but a HOG isnt big enough for ur tastes then a h1 is a great car for you.

New Escalades aren't all that either. We have one at our Virginia Beach house. Just reminds me of an overpriced, boxy, Chevy Avalanche styled Suburban....sorry, Yukon XL... with a wood steering wheel.

yeah, the deciding factor against the escalade was the fact that it drove like a boat. But this thing drives like a tank, and gets way too much attention for my taste. I thought about a Ml55, but I wanted to stick with an american made SUV. Unless of course I could get a G5 or G55

HMSSSSSSS

you should look into a Defender 110 (is the 4-door version of the 90 which left our shores in 1997). It is still produced in England and you can have a new one special-ordered from here if you really want it, or can pick up a year or two old one here. A place here imports them, so I'm pretty certain you could find an importer there.
