View Full Version : ch3@p-@55 pot-metal W124) sway-bar brackets

I have a question, please:

Does ANYONE make a 440 stainless steel, titanium, or stronger set of sway-bar retaining brackets for the W124 chassis?

I break one or both of mine at LEAST once a year, as the result of hard-core corner-mashing and superspeed merges, et cetera. I am running a RENNtech front swaybar, for those not familiar with my 500E setup.

The Mercedes-Benz OEM part#s for the main bracket pieces (I am not referring to the rubber bushing) are as follows:

124-323-05-25
124-323-05-26

Any help/advice would be most appreciated. If no one knows,
perhaps I will have a kit made at my local machine-shop.

I know the wagons had metal links in the back. Perhaps that would be a source.

FYI - from mercedesshop.com:

Scott,

Try either Delsing (http://www.delsingmotorsport.com/) or MRP (http://www.mrp-engineering.com/pages/4/index.htm)

Both are small businesses and make parts for the 190E but I believe the swaybar mounts are the same...but you should probably verify!

Question. Did you break the brackets before you upgraded your sway bar?

Yes, definitely; it does not appear to be swaybar weight related.

Perhaps, given that my car is lowered, the extra compression places extra dead load on the pot-metal's pot-bellies.

Driving like an escaped inmate doesn't help, I suppose...

;)

Haha nice; fat bars and phat rides. I was just curious. You must really drive like a nut if you are breaking those things on the street! I mean, ive been known to take my corners at 3x the legal, but ive never thrown anything in the suspension before

MRP? I don't think so... but please toggle my memory: what does the acronym stand for?

{edit @ 1146 hrs PDT THU 26JUN03:
No, I definitely have not purchased anything from MRP. I e-mailed them and
asked about 500E applications; however, they have not replied.}

I think MRP stands for Mercedes Racing Performance. Thanks.

Well I'm a member over a 190Rev I can vouch for MRP to say that they are a reputable company. I believe some members here with W201's have bought from MRP I have not yet. I plan on buying some parts soon btw they've change their name to DaVinci Motorsports.

MRP is now called DaVinci Motorsports. From my research, all of their products are of the highest quality. I ordered a set of rear shock bushings (poly), paid via paypal and had them in a few days. Good products and good communication

Ironically, I have been waiting for more than 6 days for a reply to my W124 question... and one has not arrived, yet.

Thanx for the info. I'll place my order this week.
Runexe, maybe u're looking for custom stuff and it's taking them longer to find out the details? They replied to my emails about their rear swaybar rod links pretty quickly.
