So the other night i was out around town just crusing with me and my gf....since i fixed my boost issues on the TT

came up to a stop light black WRX in front of me....and i decided to have some fun with him.....revved my engine and i saw him looking up in his rear view mirror

green light we both made the left and once we got on the straight he started going....i am about 1.5-2 CL behind him (since it was a single left turn lan)

by 4th gear i am right on his rear bumper (with an extra person in the car and a full tank of gas) and just as we are coming up to the light and as i upshift to 5th gear......CCCRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEE.......grin ded on 5th gear and cant get it in........

DAMNIT...... so the next day i lifted up the car and checked everything

it turns out the shop did not top off the tranny fluid all the way

and also i didnt tighten up the dogbone tranny mount enuff after i did my polyurthene mount

i also re-align my DG shortshifter.....

so hopefully it wont happen again....so far it feels much better

lolssss nah i was reelin' him in :P so no shame there

and he did have a head start caz he was in front PLUS i had an extra person in the car and i was still reelin' him in....

anyhow i am just hoping the grinding wont happen again......i might needa upgrade to the newer improved verson of the DG Short Shifter which elimates 1.5 of the 2 shift link adjustments....making the shift less notchy and more accurate

Whats more embarassing than loosing to a wrx is your girl flung all over the cabin because of your notchy shifter!!

u sure it wasn't an STI, my brother has one, and its pretty quick. also, quite fun at ripping some donuts, hehe, he actually uses it for rallying too

is it just me or is your TT having a lot of small issues that needed or will need future replacement?

nah its def not the STI caz if it was there is no way that i can be reeling him in (with what i have running)

well i have a Diesel Geek Race short shifter and DG recently came out with an 'upgrade' version which is a better design than the orginal one that i have....

the temp sensor is just something i have in mind for 'maintenance' since having a good intake air temp readout for the ECU is very important for the 1.8T (for boost, timing control etc.)

yea, he swapped it soon after getting the car. the wing was a little too rice, plus now it is more sleeper as it is also debadged in the rear unless one knows about the other sti additions, brembo's, bbs, etc...

ya I dig the sti w\o the wing!

what audi TT do you have? I raced the single tipped exhaust TT on the freeway in my C230k and pulled on him very slowly! I was amazed!! so as soon as I got home I went to audi.com and researched the engine... I guess the single tip exhaust TT is the 180HP one..
