If anyone has some advice or models that would be good to look into let me know.

I have 850 pictures to scan, and scanning the negatives would be better. I was quoted 600 dollars to scan them and put them on a cd by ritz camera, so I think I will buy one.

Any advice. Thanks.

IT's the HP ScanJet 4570C. I think it's about $150 max.

I have both a flatbed scanner with the neg/pos scan attachment and a Polaroid film scanner (scsi interface) and like both, but for different things. The flatbed is great for quick "contact sheets" of negs and slides, but the quality is lacking when you work with the images. After seeing what I want from the flatbed, if there's an image I want to work with, I'll pop it into the Polaroid and get a single hi-res scan.

Ill look into the polaroid model as well. I want really high quality pictures.
